

Primary Advisor / Artist
Ana Maria Kleymeyer is an international environmental law and policy advisor specializing in climate change and sustainable development.
Ms. Kleymeyer has worked for 20 years in the field of international law and sustainable development serving developing country governments, the United Nations, various international financial institutions, and non-governmental organizations through targeted advisory support, capacity building, technical assistance, and research. During her career, she has worked in water resources management and environmental enforcement capacity building for the World Bank, she served as head of delegation for the Argentinian delegation in negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol, and she headed the Office of International Affairs as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Environment at the Argentine Ministry of Sustainable Development. In addition, she has served as senior advisor for climate change to a leading global research institute working on trade and sustainable development issues. Prior to joining IGSD Ms. Kleymeyer ran her own consulting firm providing advisory and capacity-building services to governments and international institutions on an array of international environmental law and sustainable development topics.
Ms. Kleymeyer holds a Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law, a Masters from the International Institute for Development Studies (IUED, Geneva), and a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Letters at Wesleyan University.

Ana Maria Kleymeyer started Instruments 4 Change in 2012, taking a leap from the comfortable nest of over a decade working in international institutions into the dynamic, constantly evolving skies of independently driven work. I4C has evolved from an independently managed business to a non-profit group that allows ongoing projects to evolve, enables additional collaborations and partnerships, and expands options for supporting artistic projects, mentoring youth, and engaging on local environmental issues.
